Discover the Berber Valleys of the High Atlas Mountains
Atlas Mountains
Marrakech lies at the foot of the snow-capped Atlas Mountains, the North African mountain range that links Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia. There are many excursions to do from Marrakech to the Berber valleys of the High Atlas Mountains, which are just a 90 minutes drive from the city.
While en route to the Atlas, you will be treated to breathtaking views of lush greenery and ancient Berber villages.
Your journey begins with a 9:00 AM pick-up, heading towards the High Atlas Mountains. The first stop is the charming village of Azrou, where you’ll visit a women’s cooperative for an authentic oil tasting experience.
Continue to the breathtaking Imlil Valley, passing the Naqab waterfall and traditional Berber villages. Savor a delicious Moroccan lunch in an authentic Berber lodge, offering spectacular views of North Africa’s highest peak.
After lunch, follow scenic trails before driving through the Kik Plateau and Takarkoust Dam, arriving at the serene Agafay Desert. Here, you’ll enjoy a peaceful camel ride and relax with tea in a Berber tent.
You’ll return to Marrakech around 6:00 PM.
